It’s always worth consulting the great hive mind that is friends and family, fellow yoga class members etc etc…
I wanted to test out a couple of theories I’ve been considering quite a lot lately – firstly that loads of people would love to change or develop or reimagine their garden but don’t know where to start or feel overwhelmed, and secondly that if they think of approaching a garden designer, they tend to feel a bit daunted by the perceived cost.
It turns out that both theories hold true, which seems a great shame. I know that time and money are the main stumbling blocks, so increasingly I’m providing a fixed price gardening fairy godmother intervention which aims to get in with the quick wins, avoid the expensive mistakes, build confidence and bring back the joy in your garden space, no matter what its size/shape/aspect. This isn’t a full-on design service, but it is designer’s eyes on your garden, with extensive plant knowledge and landscaping materials advice at your disposal, for the whole garden if that’s what you want, or for a specific (problem?) area.
You complete and send me a short, focused questionnaire with a few photos of your garden, I come for a 1 hour visit, we walk and talk the garden, I listen to you and come up with a fresh focus and ideas for quick, cost-effective solutions that suit you and your budget. I follow up with a written record of our discussion and my advice.
And if you like, I can supply plants and come and work alongside you in the garden to get the revamp underway.
How does that sound?
Please get in touch if you’d like to know a bit more.
