We’ve been waiting so long but at last we have the first few signs of spring in the hedgerows. On my daily dog walk with Maisie I try to spot any new arrivals and today it was the wild violets. They’re very shy and tend to be hidden behind the thuggish nettles and ivy and the rampant goose grass, but there they are, just doing their quiet understated thing. Beautiful.
